What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Care Plus Medical Ucc Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must display specific signage at their business location. The franchisee is required to identify the location as an independently owned franchise, using signage prescribed by Care Plus Medical Ucc. This means the franchisor dictates the design, content, and placement of the signage.
This requirement ensures that customers recognize the location as an authorized Care Plus Medical Ucc franchise while also understanding it is independently owned. This dual messaging helps maintain brand consistency and quality control, which are crucial for franchise systems. The franchisee does not have the freedom to use self-designed signage.
In addition to initial signage, Care Plus Medical Ucc retains the right to mandate replacements of obsolete or worn-out signage. Franchisees bear the cost of these replacements, ensuring the location consistently meets the franchisor's standards for appearance and brand representation. This is a common practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to maintain a uniform brand image across all locations.
When the franchise agreement terminates, the franchisee is responsible for removing all Care Plus Medical Ucc signage and trade dress from the location within 30 days. If the franchisee fails to do so, Care Plus Medical Ucc has the right to enter the premises and remove the signage themselves, without being held liable for trespass or damages. This provision protects Care Plus Medical Ucc's brand identity and prevents unauthorized use of its trademarks after the franchise agreement ends.
