What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Care Plus Medical Ucc's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Market Cooperative is dedicated to administering regional advertising and marketing programs. It also develops standardized promotional materials, subject to Care Plus Medical UCC's approval, for its members to use in local advertising and promotion. This means that franchisees will participate in a cooperative effort to boost brand awareness and attract customers within their specific region. Franchisees benefit from shared resources and coordinated campaigns, potentially leading to greater marketing impact than individual efforts. However, all advertising and promotional plans or materials must receive prior approval from Care Plus Medical UCC.
Care Plus Medical UCC retains significant control over the Market Cooperative. The document states that Care Plus Medical UCC may designate the national or regional advertising agencies used by the Market Cooperative. This ensures that all marketing efforts align with the overall brand strategy and standards set by Care Plus Medical UCC. Additionally, Care Plus Medical UCC is entitled to attend and participate in any meeting of a Market Cooperative, further solidifying their oversight. Franchisees should be aware that while they have a vote in the Market Cooperative, Care Plus Medical UCC ultimately has the power to make decisions if the members cannot agree.
Funding for the Market Cooperative comes from its members, including franchisees, through dues. These dues are determined by a majority vote of the Market Cooperative but must fall between 1% and 5% of gross sales. Care Plus Medical UCC has the sole right to enforce the obligations of franchisees to contribute to the Market Cooperative. Care Plus Medical UCC also has the power to terminate any Market Cooperative, and any remaining funds will be transferred to the Marketing Fund. This highlights the importance of understanding the financial obligations and the potential for changes in the marketing strategy dictated by Care Plus Medical UCC.
