What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Care Plus Medical Ucc's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is not refundable. Item 4.1 of the franchise agreement states that upon signing the agreement, the franchisee must pay an initial franchise fee, the amount of which is stated on the Summary Page, and this fee is not refundable.
Additionally, Item 23 clarifies that upon execution of the MUDA (Multi-Unit Development Agreement), the franchisee must pay the total Initial Franchise Fee to Care Plus Medical UCC, and this fee is also non-refundable. This reinforces that under both the standard franchise agreement and the multi-unit development agreement, the initial franchise fee is a non-refundable payment.
Prospective franchisees should be aware that this non-refundable fee is a standard practice in franchising, intended to compensate the franchisor for the initial costs and efforts in evaluating and setting up the franchisee. Franchisees should carefully consider their decision before signing the agreement and paying the initial fee, as it will not be returned under any circumstances.
