What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Care Plus Medical Ucc's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Care Plus Medical Ucc has the right, but not the obligation, to collect payments from franchisees on behalf of a vendor. Care Plus Medical Ucc can then remit those payments to the vendor. Furthermore, Care Plus Medical Ucc can impose a reasonable markup or charge for administering this payment program.
This means that Care Plus Medical Ucc can act as an intermediary between the franchisee and the vendors, streamlining the payment process. This could simplify bookkeeping for the franchisee and potentially offer benefits such as negotiated pricing or consolidated billing.
However, franchisees should be aware that Care Plus Medical Ucc is not obligated to collect payments on their behalf. Additionally, Care Plus Medical Ucc may charge a markup or fee for this service, which would increase the overall cost of goods or services purchased from vendors. It would be prudent for a prospective franchisee to inquire about the typical markup or charges associated with this payment program to assess its financial impact.
It is also important to note that Care Plus Medical Ucc may receive rebates, payments, or other consideration from vendors in connection with purchases by franchisees. This practice is common in franchising and is generally intended to incentivize the franchisor to negotiate favorable terms with vendors on behalf of the entire system. Franchisees should consider how these arrangements might affect pricing and vendor selection.
