What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Card My Yard has the authority to withdraw approval of advertising materials at any time. Specifically, Card My Yard's approval of any advertising material may be withdrawn at their sole discretion at any time.
This means that even if Card My Yard initially approves advertising, promotional, and marketing materials, they can later retract that approval. As a franchisee, you would be prohibited from using any advertising or promotional materials that Card My Yard has disapproved.
This clause gives Card My Yard significant control over the brand's image and messaging. It is fairly common in franchising for the franchisor to have approval over marketing materials to ensure brand consistency and compliance with advertising regulations. However, the ability to withdraw approval at any time provides an additional layer of control for Card My Yard. A prospective franchisee should carefully consider the implications of this level of oversight and ensure they are comfortable with Card My Yard's advertising standards and policies.
