What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees assume all responsibility for site selection. However, Card My Yard will assist in site selection if the franchisee requests it or if Card My Yard deems it appropriate. This assistance is to ensure the site meets Card My Yard's minimum standards, which include at least 18 feet of wall space with walls at least 8 feet high.
Card My Yard does not offer written site selection guidelines but will provide assistance to ensure the location meets their minimum standards. However, Card My Yard will not conduct an on-site evaluation until they receive all required information and materials. If a franchisee wishes to operate their Card My Yard business from a location other than their primary residence, they must submit a description of the site and evidence that it meets Card My Yard's guidelines.
It is important to note that Card My Yard must accept the site in writing before the franchisee can begin any construction or renovations or use the site for their business. The franchisee cannot make any binding commitment regarding a site until Card My Yard provides written acceptance. The franchisor's acceptance of a site does not guarantee the profitability or success of the Card My Yard business at that location.
