Licenses;Permits.
You are responsible for obtaining all zoning classifications and clearances which may be required by any laws, ordinances, regulations, or restrictive covenants relating to the construction and operation of the Card My Yard business at the Franchise Location, and you must conform the premises as needed to comply with any local ordinances and building codes at your expense.
Before beginning construction of the Card My
Yard business, you must (i) obtain all approvals, clearances, permits, licenses and certifications required for the lawful construction or remodeling and operation of the Card My Yard business, and (ii) certify in writing to us that they have been obtained and that the insurance coverage specified in Section XIII. of this Agreement is in full force and effect. At our request, you agree to provide to us copies of all such approvals, clearances, permits, licenses and certifications.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for obtaining all necessary zoning classifications and clearances for the construction and operation of their Card My Yard business. This includes complying with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations, or restrictive covenants at the franchisee's expense.
Before starting construction, the franchisee must obtain all required approvals, clearances, permits, licenses, and certifications for lawful construction, remodeling, and operation. They must also certify in writing to Card My Yard that these have been obtained and that the required insurance coverage is in place. Card My Yard may request copies of all such approvals, clearances, permits, licenses, and certifications.
Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for ensuring the premises comply with local ordinances and building codes. Card My Yard's review of architectural and design plans is solely for compliance with system standards and does not guarantee accuracy or freedom from errors concerning structural application. Card My Yard is not responsible for architecture, engineering, code, zoning, or other legal requirements, including accessibility for disabled persons, nor for any errors or omissions in the plans.
