Does Card My Yard provide software programs, and if so, is there a fee?

D. Payment Processing and Software Programs. A centralized payment processing function on our website and processing of all customer payments, sales tax reporting and payment and remittance of Net Proceeds to you bi-weekly. For a reasonable fee, we may also provide Software Programs that we acquire or develop for use in the System; provided, that we are under no obligation to develop or acquire such Software Programs.
G. Computer Systems.
You agree to use the Computer System (if any) that we specify from time to time for use in the operation of the Card My Yard business.
You acknowledge that we may modify the specifications and the components of any such Computer System from time to time.
As part of the Computer System, we may require you to obtain specified computer hardware and/or software, including, without limitation, a license to use Software Programs developed by us or others.
Changes to the Computer System specifications may require you to incur costs to purchase,lease and/or license new or modified computer hardware and/or software and to obtain service and support for the Computer System during the term of this Agreement.
- (4) We also have the sole right (but no obligation) to develop an Intranet through which we and our franchisees can communicate by e-mail or similar electronic means. If we develop an Intranet, you agree to participate in strict compliance with our standards, protocols and restrictions, including, without limitation, standards, protocols and restrictions relating to the encryption of confidential information and prohibitions against the transmission of libelous, derogatory or defamatory statements. We may, in our sole discretion, charge a reasonable fee for Intranet usage, which you agree to pay in accordance with our invoice.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Card My Yard may provide software programs that they acquire or develop for use in their system. However, they are under no obligation to do so. If Card My Yard does provide these Software Programs, they may charge a reasonable fee for their use.
Card My Yard also specifies that franchisees must use the Computer System, which includes both hardware and software, that Card My Yard designates for operation of the business. Card My Yard may modify the specifications and components of this system from time to time, and may require franchisees to obtain specific computer hardware and/or software, including licenses for Software Programs developed by Card My Yard or others. These changes may require franchisees to incur costs to purchase, lease, or license new or modified hardware and software, as well as to obtain service and support.
Card My Yard also has the sole right to develop an Intranet for communication between the franchisor and franchisees. If developed, franchisees must participate in compliance with Card My Yard's standards. Card My Yard may charge a reasonable fee for Intranet usage. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the types of software currently in use, the typical costs for initial setup and ongoing maintenance, and the frequency and potential costs of required system upgrades to budget accordingly.
