- (10) Make such modifications or alterations to the premises as are necessary to distinguish the appearance of the Franchise Location from that of the Card My Yard businesses, and, if you fail or refuse to do so, we shall have the right to enter upon the premises, without being guilty of trespass or any other crime or tort, to make or cause such changes to be made, at your expense.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee fails or refuses to make necessary modifications or alterations to the premises to distinguish it from Card My Yard businesses after termination, Card My Yard has the right to enter the premises and make those changes at the franchisee's expense. This entry will not be considered trespassing or any other crime or tort.
This means that upon termination of the franchise agreement, a franchisee is obligated to remove any branding, signage, or other elements that identify the location as a Card My Yard business. Should the franchisee neglect to do so, Card My Yard can take action to protect its brand and ensure that the public is not misled into thinking the terminated location is still affiliated with the Card My Yard franchise system.
The franchisee will be responsible for covering the costs associated with these modifications. This could include expenses for removing signs, repainting the premises, or any other alterations needed to differentiate the location from a Card My Yard business. This provision protects Card My Yard's brand identity and prevents potential confusion or misrepresentation after a franchise agreement ends.
