What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to purchase all "Card My Yard" branded items from Card My Yard or a third party designated by them. These branded items include, but are not limited to, stationary, business cards, office supplies, clothing, and hats. Card My Yard retains the right to modify the list of required branded items at their discretion.
This requirement ensures uniformity and quality control across all Card My Yard franchises. By mandating the purchase of branded items from approved sources, Card My Yard aims to maintain a consistent brand image. This is a common practice in franchising, where brand consistency is crucial for customer recognition and trust.
Prospective franchisees should be aware of this requirement as it impacts their operating expenses. While the initial set of yard letters, stakes, business cards, and door hangers are provided at no cost, franchisees will need to budget for ongoing purchases of branded items. It is important to clarify with Card My Yard what specific items are included under "branded items" and to understand the potential costs associated with these purchases. Franchisees should also inquire about the process for suggesting new suppliers or requesting approval for alternative products, as outlined elsewhere in the FDD.
