What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain proper staffing levels to meet the brand's business standards. As an independent contractor, the franchisee has sole responsibility for all employment decisions related to the Card My Yard business. These decisions include recruiting, screening, hiring, firing, scheduling, training (excluding the initial training), compensation, benefits, wage and hour requirements, recordkeeping, supervision, safety, security, and discipline of employees.
Card My Yard may provide information about employment matters, but this is considered a recommendation only and is not intended to control the wages, hours, or working conditions of the franchisee's employees. The franchisee alone directs and controls all employees, subject to Card My Yard's business standards.
This means that while Card My Yard sets the standards for the business, the franchisee is responsible for ensuring they have enough qualified staff to meet those standards. The franchisee has significant autonomy in managing their employees but must comply with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
