What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must meet specific gross sales requirements to maintain their territorial rights within their protected area. During the first 12 months of operation, the franchisee must achieve gross sales of at least $5,000. For the subsequent 12-month period (months 13-24), the gross sales requirement increases to $10,000. After this initial period, the standard gross sales requirement is $15,000 for each 12-month period.
If a Card My Yard franchisee fails to meet these minimum gross sales levels during any applicable 12-month period, Card My Yard has the right to reduce or eliminate the franchisee's territorial rights within the protected area or even terminate the Franchise Agreement altogether. This action can be taken after providing the franchisee with a 30-day written notice.
This requirement underscores the importance of consistent sales performance for Card My Yard franchisees. It ensures that franchisees are actively developing their business within their territory. For a prospective franchisee, this means understanding the local market, implementing effective marketing strategies, and maintaining high-quality service to achieve and sustain the required sales targets. The gross sales requirements are a critical factor in retaining the exclusive rights to operate within the protected area, making it a key consideration for anyone considering investing in a Card My Yard franchise.
