What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Card My Yard Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for obtaining all architectural, engineering, design, and construction services necessary for the construction of their Card My Yard business. These services are obtained at the franchisee's own expense.

Card My Yard requires that any architect(s) and engineer(s) selected by the franchisee must be approved by Card My Yard before starting work on the business. Card My Yard may provide a list of approved architects and engineers, but they are not obligated to do so. The franchisee must submit any architectural and design plans to Card My Yard for review within fifteen days of receiving the initial plans. Card My Yard will then notify the franchisee of any objections to the plans within fifteen days of receiving them. If Card My Yard fails to notify the franchisee of an objection within this period, the franchisee is allowed to use the plans.

If Card My Yard objects to the plans, they will provide a detailed list of changes needed to align the plans with system standards. The FDD clarifies that Card My Yard's review of the plans is solely to determine compliance with system standards, and their acceptance of the plans does not guarantee their accuracy or structural integrity.

Card My Yard is not responsible for architecture or engineering, or for code, zoning, or other legal requirements. They are also not responsible for any errors, omissions, or discrepancies in the plans.
