What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement includes an acknowledgement from the franchisee that the agreement contains no changes from the form of franchise agreement attached to the franchise disclosure document, other than changes made with the franchisee's knowledge and through negotiations with Card My Yard.
The franchisee also acknowledges having read the agreement and the franchise disclosure document, understanding the terms, and accepting them as reasonably necessary to maintain uniformity and protect the goodwill of Card My Yard businesses. This suggests that the written agreement, along with the FDD, is intended to represent the complete understanding between Card My Yard and the franchisee.
This type of clause is common in franchise agreements to prevent disputes based on verbal promises or understandings not written in the contract. A prospective Card My Yard franchisee should ensure that any specific agreements or promises made during the negotiation process are included in the final written agreement to avoid future conflicts.
