Answer from 2025 FDD Document

The figures shown in the tables above represent gross sales and gross profits,

but those figures do not include all operating expenses. You will have many expenses, such as wages, costs of goods sold, vehicle maintenance costs, insurance, local marketing expenses, marketing fees, utilities and various other expenses that are not accounted for in the tables above. Such operating expenses must be deducted from the gross sales and gross profit figures to obtain your net income or profit. You should conduct an independent investigation of the costs and expenses you will incur in operating your Card My Yard business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the financial performance representations provided do not include all operating expenses. The Item 19 tables present gross sales and gross profits, but these figures do not account for all the expenses a franchisee will incur.

Specifically, the FDD states that expenses such as wages, costs of goods sold, vehicle maintenance, insurance, local marketing, marketing fees, and utilities are not included in the gross sales and gross profit figures. These operating expenses must be subtracted from the gross figures to determine net income or profit.

This means that a prospective Card My Yard franchisee needs to conduct their own independent investigation to estimate these costs and expenses. The FDD advises that you should not rely solely on the gross sales and gross profit figures provided to project your potential earnings. Instead, you must consider all potential operating expenses to determine potential profitability.

The FDD also notes that written substantiation of the data used in preparing the financial performance representation will be made available to you upon reasonable request. This documentation could provide additional insights, but it remains the franchisee's responsibility to project their own expenses and net income.
