What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the 'Grand Opening Period' spans from 10 days before the franchise's opening date to 60 days after the opening date.
For a prospective Card My Yard franchisee, this 70-day period is crucial for initial marketing efforts. During this time, franchisees are required to spend a minimum of $250 on grand opening marketing activities. This investment is intended to create local awareness and attract initial customers.
In addition to the monetary investment, Card My Yard requires franchisees to complete at least 10 promotional yard greeting services and actively promote these services through social media posts during the Grand Opening Period. The FDD specifies that franchisees can offer discounted or donated yard greeting services, with a minimum of 10 promotional services, and credit the discounted amounts against their Grand Opening marketing requirements, provided these services are properly recorded in the Card My Yard e-commerce system. This allows franchisees to strategically allocate their marketing budget while still meeting the promotional requirements set by Card My Yard.
