What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any new concepts, processes, or improvements developed by a franchisee or their employees in the operation or promotion of their Card My Yard business must be promptly reported to Card My Yard. The franchisee must provide all necessary information about these innovations without expecting compensation.
These concepts, processes, or improvements become the exclusive property of Card My Yard. This means Card My Yard has the right to use these innovations as they see fit.
Card My Yard may disclose these innovations to other franchisees if they deem it appropriate. This clause ensures that Card My Yard can leverage the collective knowledge and creativity of its franchisees to improve the overall system, but it also means that a franchisee's unique ideas could be shared with others in the system, potentially reducing any competitive advantage they might have gained.
