What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee obtains rights to a site other than their home for their Card My Yard business, they must acquire the site by purchase or lease at their own expense. Following Card My Yard's acceptance of the site, the franchisee is required to furnish Card My Yard with a copy of the executed lease or contract of sale within ten days after execution.
This means that a prospective Card My Yard franchisee needs to act quickly to provide the necessary documentation once a lease or purchase agreement is finalized. Failing to do so within the specified timeframe could potentially lead to issues with compliance and the franchise agreement.
It is important for franchisees to ensure they have a system in place to track deadlines and promptly submit required documents to Card My Yard to maintain a good standing with the franchisor.
