What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor may charge a training fee for successor or replacement personnel. While the initial training program for the Principal Owner and General Manager is provided without a fee, this applies only to the initial training. This initial training program, including online instruction courses, is anticipated to take approximately 22 hours to complete.

If the franchisee chooses to travel to the headquarters in Springville, Utah for training, they must cover all associated expenses, including travel, lodging, meals, and wages for themselves and their personnel. Card My Yard retains the right to charge a reasonable training fee for any subsequent training of successor or replacement personnel.

This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as it allows franchisors to recoup costs associated with training new personnel who were not part of the original franchise agreement. It is important for prospective franchisees to factor in potential training costs for future staff changes when considering the overall investment.
