What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is $8,500. This fee is due upon signing the Franchise Agreement. It is payable in a single lump sum.
The FDD specifies that the initial franchise fee is considered fully earned and nonrefundable once received by Card My Yard. This means that once you pay the fee, you will not get it back, even if you change your mind or are unable to open the business. The fee is imposed uniformly on all franchisees, ensuring that everyone pays the same amount to join the Card My Yard franchise system.
There are some limited circumstances where a portion of the fee may be returned. If you encounter an unforeseen health or personal issue before beginning operations, Card My Yard may allow you to terminate the Franchise Agreement, but you would still have to pay a termination fee of $1,000, plus any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by Card My Yard. Additionally, if you fail to complete the initial training program successfully within 60 days of signing the franchise agreement, Card My Yard may terminate the agreement and retain 50% of the initial franchise fee, returning the other 50% to you.
