What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Card My Yard's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Designated Search Area loses its force and effect once Card My Yard accepts the franchisee's selected site. The franchisee has the right to select a site for their Card My Yard business within the Designated Search Area. After Card My Yard accepts the site, it will be identified as the Franchise Location in Exhibit C of the Franchise Agreement.

The Franchise Location is the specific address where the Card My Yard business will operate. The Franchisee is granted the right to operate their Card My Yard business at this Franchise Location. The Protected Area, which defines the geographic area where Card My Yard will not authorize another franchise, will also be described in Exhibit C.

Prospective franchisees should understand that the Designated Search Area is primarily for site selection. Once a site is approved and becomes the Franchise Location, the franchisee's operational territory is defined by the Protected Area described in Exhibit C. The franchisee should carefully review Exhibit C to understand the boundaries of their Protected Area and ensure it meets their business expectations.
