What is the process for a Carbones Pizzeria franchisee to request approval for changes to specific ingredients?

Carbones_Pizzeria Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

If you would like us to consider approving a supplier or an alternative item that we have not approved, or for which we have not revoked our approval, you must provide us with all information we request regarding the supplier or item. We will then have 30 days from the date you provide us the information to consider the supplier. We do not make our criteria available for approving suppliers or items. We do not charge a fee for our investigation or approval. We will not consider approving a supplier or item for which we only have a single supplier or item.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carbones Pizzeria's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to specific ingredient and recipe standards to maintain consistency across all locations. If a franchisee wants to use an alternative ingredient or supplier that is not already approved, they must first provide Carbones Pizzeria with all requested information about the proposed supplier or item.

Carbones Pizzeria then has 30 days from the date of receiving the information to consider the proposed supplier or item. The FDD states that Carbones Pizzeria does not disclose the criteria used for approving suppliers or items, and they do not charge a fee for this review process. However, Carbones Pizzeria will not consider approving a supplier or item if there is only a single supplier for that item.

This process ensures that Carbones Pizzeria maintains control over the quality and consistency of its products. While franchisees can suggest alternative ingredients or suppliers, the final decision rests with Carbones Pizzeria. This restriction is common in franchising to protect brand standards and customer expectations. Prospective franchisees should be aware of these restrictions and consider them when evaluating the franchise opportunity.
