What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carbones Pizzeria's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain their point-of-sale (POS) system. The FDD specifies that franchisees must purchase the required POS system, which costs between $5,000 and $10,000, and pay a monthly fee between $300 and $500. While Carbones Pizzeria, its affiliates, or third parties have no obligation to provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates to the system, the franchisee is responsible for maintaining the system.
Carbones Pizzeria retains independent access to the information within the franchisee's POS system. The FDD places no limits on the franchisor's right to access this information. Therefore, franchisees must maintain their POS system and assist Carbones Pizzeria in automatically uploading the data.
This requirement ensures that Carbones Pizzeria can effectively track sales and manage financial information across all franchise locations. It also allows them to monitor the franchisee's compliance with system standards and identify any potential issues. For a prospective franchisee, this means budgeting not only for the initial cost and monthly fees of the POS system but also for ongoing maintenance and potential upgrades to ensure continuous operation and compliance with Carbones Pizzeria's requirements.
