What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carbones Pizzeria's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's standards and requirements, which may change over time. These standards include those pertaining to the quality, type, and weight of ingredients, as well as other products and supplies utilized in the operation of their restaurant. This requirement is part of the Franchise Agreement that franchisees must sign.
This means that a prospective Carbones Pizzeria franchisee will not have complete autonomy over the ingredients and supplies they use. They must source items that meet the franchisor's specifications. This is a common practice in franchising to ensure brand consistency and quality control across all locations.
While this standardization can limit a franchisee's flexibility in sourcing cheaper or locally available supplies, it also provides the benefit of leveraging the franchisor's established supply chain and potentially benefiting from negotiated pricing. Franchisees should carefully review the Franchise Agreement and related documents to fully understand the specific standards and requirements for supplies, as well as any approved supplier lists or purchasing guidelines.
