- (12) Provide you access to the System Standards. You must comply with the System Standards, as we periodically modify them, except for any employment-related or other policies and procedures which are clearly indicated in the System Standards as being for your optional use. We may communicate the System Standards to you using various means that we may periodically establish, including electronic media and/or written materials, and you must continuously monitor and access any updates to the System Standards or other aspects of the Hotel System. The System Standards and any passwords or other digital identifications necessary to access the System Standards are confidential.
Any materials, guidance or assistance that we provide on employment-related policies or procedures, whether in the System Standards or otherwise, are solely for your (or your management company's) optional use. Those materials, guidance and assistance do not form part of the mandatory System Standards.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Caption By Hyatt Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must comply with the System Standards, but there are limited exceptions. Caption By Hyatt may vary the Hotel System and System Standards for any Brand Hotel based upon specific conditions or factors that they consider important to that hotel's successful operation. However, Caption By Hyatt is not obligated to grant a similar variation or accommodation to the franchisee.
Furthermore, franchisees are not required to adhere to employment-related or other policies and procedures that are clearly indicated in the System Standards as being for optional use. Franchisees must continuously monitor and access any updates to the System Standards or other aspects of the Hotel System, using means established by Caption By Hyatt, such as electronic media and written materials.
These exceptions provide Caption By Hyatt with the flexibility to adapt the System Standards to specific hotel circumstances, while also giving franchisees some discretion over certain optional policies. However, franchisees should be aware that Caption By Hyatt has the final say on any variations to the System Standards and is not obligated to provide the same accommodations to all franchisees.
