Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Hyatt will provide pre-opening training to the Hotel staff on the System Standards and related issues in connection with the Hotel's opening in affiliation with the Proprietary Marks.

Hyatt may conduct this training via remote learning, in one or more visits to the Hotel, or both, as Hyatt determines in its sole option.

Franchisee must pay Hyatt's then current fee and the trainers' travel and living expenses associated with any training that Hyatt provides on-site at the Hotel.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Caption By Hyatt's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Hyatt has the sole option to decide how pre-opening training is conducted for the Hotel staff. This training, which covers System Standards and related issues, can be delivered via remote learning, on-site visits to the Hotel, or a combination of both methods.

This means that as a Caption By Hyatt franchisee, you do not have control over the format of the pre-opening training. Hyatt determines whether the training will be conducted remotely, on-site, or through a combination of both methods.

If Hyatt chooses to provide on-site training, the franchisee is responsible for paying Hyatt's current fee for the training, as well as covering the travel and living expenses for the trainers during their stay at the Hotel. Franchisees should factor in these potential costs when budgeting for the pre-opening phase. Understanding that Hyatt has full discretion over the training format is crucial for financial planning and resource allocation during the hotel's opening.
