- Bookkeeping Service. You are required to exclusively use Bookkeeping Services that we designate. However, if you currently operate a similarly situated franchised business that uses a bookkeeping service, you may provide us with a written request to continue using such bookkeeping service. You may be granted, in our sole discretion, express permission to use your current bookkeeping service for your CANOPY® business. The Bookkeeping Services Fee is a monthly fee that is currently charged at $350 per month. The Bookkeeping Services fee covers up to 5 hours of bookkeeping assistance per month, The Bookkeeping Services Fee covers up to 5 hours of bookkeeping assistance per month; however, if you require more than 5 hours of bookkeeping assistance per month, we will charge you our then-current hourly fee for additional assistance. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to use the bookkeeping services that Canopy Lawn Care designates. The standard Bookkeeping Services Fee is $350 per month, which covers up to 5 hours of bookkeeping assistance. Additional assistance is charged at an hourly rate that is current at the time of service. This fee is subject to change with notice from Canopy Lawn Care.
However, an exception exists if a prospective Canopy Lawn Care franchisee already operates a similarly situated franchised business and uses a bookkeeping service for that existing business. In this case, the franchisee can submit a written request to Canopy Lawn Care to continue using their current bookkeeping service for their Canopy Lawn Care franchise.
Ultimately, the decision to allow a franchisee to use their own bookkeeping service is at Canopy Lawn Care's sole discretion. Canopy Lawn Care must grant express permission for the franchisee to use their own bookkeeping service. This means that even if a franchisee meets the condition of operating a similar business with an existing bookkeeping service, Canopy Lawn Care is not obligated to approve the request.
