What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is generally required to open their Lawn Care Business within 180 days of signing the Franchise Agreement. However, Canopy Lawn Care may, at its sole discretion, grant an extension to this deadline under specific circumstances. This extension must be communicated to the franchisee through written notice.

Several factors can affect the timeline for opening a Canopy Lawn Care franchise. These include the franchisee's ability to acquire a storage facility through lease negotiations, secure necessary financing, comply with local zoning and other ordinances, and obtain required licenses, permits, and certifications. The timing of equipment delivery and the time of year the Franchise Agreement is executed in relation to the typical lawn care season can also play a role.

It is important to note that the extension is not guaranteed and is subject to Canopy Lawn Care's discretion. A prospective franchisee should discuss potential challenges and required timelines with Canopy Lawn Care during the due diligence process to understand the likelihood of obtaining an extension if needed. Understanding these factors can help a franchisee better prepare for the opening of their Canopy Lawn Care business and manage their expectations.
