What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company has established standards and specifications for a wide array of items necessary to operate a franchise. These include the Products and Services offered, the storage facility, equipment, tools, vehicles, uniforms, inventory, supplies, forms, and advertising materials. Additionally, Canopy Lawn Care sets standards for computer hardware and software, accounting systems, and bookkeeping services. These items are collectively referred to as "Required Items."
Canopy Lawn Care retains the authority to modify these standards and specifications, providing franchisees with 30 days' prior written notice of any changes. To ensure consistency and quality across all franchise locations, Canopy Lawn Care may require franchisees to purchase or lease some or all of these Required Items according to their specifications and standards. They also reserve the right to mandate that franchisees obtain these items exclusively from designated or approved suppliers.
Prospective franchisees should carefully review the Operations Manual to understand the specific standards and specifications for each Required Item. Understanding these requirements is crucial for budgeting and operational planning. Franchisees should also inquire about the process for suggesting alternative suppliers, as Canopy Lawn Care outlines a procedure for evaluating and potentially approving new suppliers based on factors like price, service, quality, and warranty. Canopy Lawn Care will notify the franchisee of their decision within 90 days of the request.
