What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program will be held at their headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina, or at another location that they designate. This training is a mandatory part of becoming a franchisee.
The initial training program lasts approximately 5 days. The franchisee, or if the franchisee is a business entity, their Designated Business Manager, must attend and successfully complete the training within 90 days of signing the Franchise Agreement. Canopy Lawn Care allows up to two additional people to attend the initial training program without incurring additional training fees.
The franchisee is responsible for covering all costs associated with attending the training, including airfare, ground transportation, lodging, meals, personal expenses, and the salary and benefits of the Designated Business Manager. However, there is no tuition or fee for the initial training program itself for the franchisee, their Designated Business Manager, or any additional staff members that Canopy Lawn Care mutually agrees to include.
Canopy Lawn Care may also require franchisees or their Designated Business Managers to attend supplemental and refresher training programs, for which they may charge a reasonable fee. The content of the training program is subject to change based on updates in materials, services, methods, and personnel. The specific subjects and time periods allocated may vary based on the experience of the individuals being trained.
