What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a vehicle is delivered to the franchisee on any day other than the first day of a month, the monthly rental payments will begin on the first day of the next month. In addition to the monthly rental payments, the franchisee agrees to pay Canopy Lawn Care a pro-rated rental charge for the number of days that the delivery date precedes the first monthly rental payment date.
For a prospective Canopy Lawn Care franchisee, this means that if a vehicle is delivered mid-month, the franchisee will not be charged the full monthly rental payment for that partial month. Instead, they will pay a pro-rated rental charge covering only the days from the delivery date until the end of that month. This pro-rated charge, along with the regular monthly payments, are part of the financial obligations a franchisee must meet to maintain their agreement with Canopy Lawn Care.
This arrangement is fairly standard in vehicle leasing agreements, as it ensures that the franchisee only pays for the actual time they have possession of the vehicle. It's important for franchisees to carefully review their lease schedules to understand how these charges are calculated and when they are due to avoid any potential misunderstandings or late payment fees.
