Must Canopy Lawn Care franchisees follow Canopy Lawn Care's policies, procedures, methods, and techniques?

According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's established operational guidelines. Specifically, franchisees are required to follow Canopy Lawn Care's policies, procedures, methods, and techniques in their business operations. This mandate ensures uniformity and quality control across all franchise locations, protecting the brand's reputation and customer experience.

This requirement extends to the services and products offered. Canopy Lawn Care franchisees must sell or offer only those services and products authorized by the franchisor that meet the franchisor's standards and specifications. They are prohibited from using other brands of products unless approved in writing by Canopy Lawn Care. Currently, the core services include lawn applications for turf fertilization, weed control, and prevention. Franchisees may also have the opportunity to provide related enhancement goods and services as prescribed by Canopy Lawn Care, which may be modified from time to time.

Canopy Lawn Care retains the right to modify or add to the required services and products with prior notice to the franchisee and may also disapprove any services or products in writing at any time. To ensure compliance, Canopy Lawn Care reserves the right to charge a fine of up to $1,000 per occurrence if a franchisee provides an unauthorized service or sells any unauthorized good. These restrictions are in place to maintain the quality of services and products offered under the Canopy Lawn Care trade name and marks.
