What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to use bookkeeping services designated by the company. This means that as a franchisee, you will likely need to use the specific bookkeeping service that Canopy Lawn Care mandates. The Bookkeeping Services Fee is currently $350 per month, which covers up to 5 hours of bookkeeping assistance. If more than 5 hours are needed, Canopy Lawn Care will charge their then-current hourly fee for the additional support. The franchisor may increase this Bookkeeping Services Fee upon notice.

However, there is an exception to this requirement. If you already operate a similar franchised business and use a bookkeeping service for that business, you can request permission from Canopy Lawn Care to continue using your existing service. The franchisor has the sole discretion to grant or deny this request.

This requirement ensures that all Canopy Lawn Care franchisees adhere to a standardized financial reporting system, which can help with brand consistency and financial oversight. However, it also means that franchisees may not be able to choose a local bookkeeping service with whom they have an existing relationship, unless they obtain specific approval from Canopy Lawn Care. Prospective franchisees should factor this cost and potential limitation into their financial planning and operational considerations.
