- (e) Loaning Franchisee during the Initial Term (including any Interim Period) one copy of or providing electronic (Internet) access to Franchisor's confidential operating manual ("Manual") containing mandatory and suggested specifications, standards, operating procedures and rules prescribed from time to time by Franchisor as further stipulated in this Section 7, and containing information relative to other obligations of Franchisee hereunder.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the operating manual, which contains mandatory and suggested specifications, standards, operating procedures, and rules, can be provided in one of two ways. During the initial term of the agreement, Canopy Lawn Care may loan the franchisee one physical copy of the manual. Alternatively, Canopy Lawn Care can provide electronic (Internet) access to the manual.
Canopy Lawn Care retains ownership of the manual, regardless of the format. Upon termination of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must return the manual and all copies to Canopy Lawn Care.
Franchisees are expected to implement any modifications to the manual at their own cost, with exceptions as provided in Section 8.5 of the agreement. Franchisees must also keep their manuals updated with replacement pages and insertions as instructed by Canopy Lawn Care.
