What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canopy Lawn Care's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Brand Fund can be used for advertising placed in various media. This includes local, regional, or national media of the franchisor's choice. The advertising can be in the form of print, direct mail, internet, radio, or television.
This gives Canopy Lawn Care broad discretion over where and how the Brand Fund is used for advertising. As a franchisee, you may not have direct control over the placement of these ads, but the goal is to promote Canopy Lawn Care businesses within the system. The FDD states that Canopy Lawn Care does not guarantee that advertising expenditures from the Brand Fund will benefit any franchisee directly or on a pro rata basis.
It's important to note that Canopy Lawn Care retains the sole right to market on the Internet, including all use of websites, domain names, URLs, linking, advertising, and co-branding arrangements. Franchisees are not allowed to independently market on the Internet or use any domain names with words similar to the brand's marks. This highlights the importance of adhering to the franchisor's marketing guidelines and obtaining approval for any local advertising efforts to ensure compliance with the franchise agreement.
