What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transferee may be required to pay a transfer fee, but not an initial franchise fee. Except in the case of a transfer to a business entity formed for the convenience of ownership, the franchisee or its transferee must pay Canine Dimensions a transfer fee of $10,000 for each protected territory being transferred.
In addition to the transfer fee, if the transfer requires the new owner to undergo training, Canine Dimensions will require an additional non-refundable $12,500 training fee. The transferee is also responsible for Canine Dimensions' reasonable attorney's fees incurred in relation to the transfer.
It is important to note that the transferee must also upgrade the franchised business to conform to Canine Dimensions' then-current standards and specifications, at the transferee's expense. The transferee and the transferee's associates must also complete any training programs then in effect for franchisees, upon such terms and conditions as Canine Dimensions may reasonably require, also at the transferee's expense.
