What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must notify the franchisor within two business days if the franchisee or any of its owners is charged with or convicted of a felony, fraud, a crime involving moral turpitude, theft, burglary, animal cruelty, or breaking and entering. This requirement ensures that Canine Dimensions is promptly informed of any potentially detrimental legal or ethical issues involving the franchisee or its owners.
This notification timeframe is crucial for Canine Dimensions to assess the situation and take appropriate action to protect its brand and reputation. The types of offenses listed—felony, fraud, crimes of moral turpitude, theft, burglary, animal cruelty, or breaking and entering—are serious and could significantly impact the public's perception of the franchise. By requiring prompt notification, Canine Dimensions can evaluate the circumstances, determine the potential impact on the business, and decide whether any remedial measures are necessary.
For a prospective Canine Dimensions franchisee, this means maintaining a high level of ethical and legal compliance. It also means ensuring that all owners are aware of the notification requirement and understand the importance of adhering to it. Failure to report such charges or convictions within the specified timeframe could result in penalties or even termination of the franchise agreement. This clause underscores the importance of transparency and adherence to legal and ethical standards within the Canine Dimensions franchise system.
