What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is subject to certain non-competition covenants after the franchise is terminated or expires. Specifically, the franchisee may not divert business to any competitor or employ or contract with any of the franchisor's or another franchisee’s personnel.
In addition to the restrictions above, for two years after the termination or expiration of the Canine Dimensions franchise, the franchisee is prohibited from having any involvement in a competing business within (a) 30 miles of their Protected Territory, or (b) 50 miles of any Canine Dimensions Business.
These post-term non-compete clauses are fairly standard in franchising to protect the brand's customer base and proprietary information. A prospective Canine Dimensions franchisee should carefully consider the geographic scope and duration of these restrictions, especially if they plan to remain in the same geographic area after leaving the Canine Dimensions system.
