What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must modify or discontinue the use of a Mark if Canine Dimensions modifies or discontinues it. Canine Dimensions is not required to reimburse franchisees for any costs incurred related to the modification or discontinuance of a Mark. This requirement is part of the franchisee's obligations under the trademark usage rules.
This means that if Canine Dimensions decides to change its logo, brand name, or any other registered mark, franchisees are obligated to implement those changes at their own expense. This could involve updating signage, marketing materials, websites, and other branded items to reflect the new Marks. The FDD makes it clear that franchisees will not receive any financial assistance from Canine Dimensions to cover these costs.
For a prospective franchisee, this highlights a potential financial risk. Brand updates can be costly, and franchisees need to be prepared to absorb these expenses if Canine Dimensions decides to rebrand or modify its Marks. It is important to factor in these potential costs when evaluating the overall investment and profitability of a Canine Dimensions franchise. Franchisees should inquire about the likelihood and frequency of brand updates to better assess this risk.
