What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must procure insurance policies no later than fifteen (15) days before the commencement of operations. These policies must protect both the franchisee and Canine Dimensions against claims related to personal injury, death, property damage, loss, liability, or expenses connected to the franchised business.
The franchisee is required to deliver Certificates of Insurance to Canine Dimensions at least thirty (30) days before the insurance is first required. This means the initial certificate must be provided well in advance of the franchisee's business opening. Subsequently, the franchisee must provide updated certificates at least thirty (30) days before the expiration of any existing policy, ensuring continuous coverage is documented with the franchisor.
The Certificates of Insurance must evidence the required coverage limits and include a provision for at least thirty (30) days' prior written notice to Canine Dimensions in case of any material alteration or cancellation of the insurance coverage. This advance notice allows Canine Dimensions to take necessary steps to protect its interests if a franchisee's insurance coverage changes or is terminated. Failing to maintain the required insurance allows Canine Dimensions to procure insurance on behalf of the franchisee and charge the franchisee for all costs and expenses incurred.
