What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Canine Dimensions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, employees are obligated to maintain the secrecy and confidentiality of the Confidential Information both during their employment and after termination, regardless of the reason for termination or whether it is voluntary. This includes not revealing, disclosing, divulging, or making known to any person or entity, or copying or using for their own account, any of the Confidential Information. The Confidential Information includes, but is not limited to, price lists and marketing plans and strategies, proprietary computer software, customer lists, information contained in the Confidential Manual, forms, instructions, processes, procedures, graphics, pictures, diagrams associated with operation of the Franchised Business, and suppliers and vendors of Franchisor.
This obligation extends to all forms of Confidential Information, ensuring that trade secrets and proprietary information remain protected. The employee's agreement covers all times, meaning there is no specific timeframe mentioned for delivering copies; rather, the emphasis is on continuous confidentiality. This is a standard practice in franchising to protect the franchisor's business methods and competitive advantage.
For a prospective Canine Dimensions franchisee, this means that their employees must sign an agreement acknowledging the confidential nature of the business information and agreeing to protect it. Franchisees need to ensure their employees understand these obligations and the potential consequences of breaching the confidentiality agreement. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the Canine Dimensions system and preventing sensitive information from falling into the hands of competitors.
