What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Canine Dimensions Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee has the right to cancel the transaction within a specific timeframe. The cancellation period is "five business days after the date you sign this agreement." If a franchisee chooses to cancel, any payments made under the agreement and any negotiable instruments executed will be returned within ten business days following the seller's receipt of the cancellation notice. Additionally, any security interest arising out of the transaction will be canceled.

To cancel the transaction, the franchisee must make available to the seller, at their business address, any goods delivered under the contract. Alternatively, the franchisee can comply with the seller's instructions regarding the return shipment of the goods at the seller's expense and risk. If the franchisee does not agree to return the goods, or if the seller does not pick them up within twenty days of the date of the cancellation notice, the franchisee may retain or dispose of the goods without further obligation.

The FDD does not define what constitutes a 'business day' for Canine Dimensions. This is important because the exact definition can vary. For example, some franchisors may exclude weekends and holidays, while others might have a more specific definition based on their operational hours. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Canine Dimensions what days are considered business days to accurately determine the cancellation deadline.
