Is a SiriusXM Radio commercial rights license required for Camp Margaritaville?

According to Camp Margaritaville's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to obtain a SiriusXM Radio commercial rights license. This license allows the franchisee to legally play Radio Margaritaville and other theme-appropriate channels within the Camp Margaritaville location. Alternatively, franchisees can subscribe to Camp Margaritaville's audiovisual vendor.

In addition to the SiriusXM Radio license or audiovisual vendor subscription, franchisees must also secure licenses for other music played at the resort. These licenses must be obtained as required by applicable music publishers, record companies, unions, guilds, collecting societies, and performing rights organizations such as ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Franchisees are also responsible for paying all applicable third-party license fees, royalties, and other costs associated with these licenses.

This requirement ensures that Camp Margaritaville locations comply with copyright laws and properly compensate artists and rights holders for the use of their music. Prospective franchisees should factor in the costs of these licenses and subscriptions when evaluating the overall investment required to open and operate a Camp Margaritaville franchise. These costs are in addition to other permits, licenses, and fees detailed in Item 7 of the FDD.
