What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Camp Margaritaville's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, to renew the franchise agreement for an additional 10-year term, a franchisee must sign the franchisor's then-current form of franchise agreement, referred to as the "Successor Franchise Agreement." This agreement may differ materially from the original agreement, potentially including higher or different fees.
Despite the potential for changes in the agreement, the franchisee will not be required to pay another application fee to complete the Training Program. However, Camp Margaritaville retains the right to require additional training. Also, the franchisee will not be required to fulfill any preopening obligations that may be outlined in the Successor Franchise Agreement.
In addition to signing the Successor Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must meet several other conditions to qualify for renewal. These include providing written notice of renewal between 12 and 18 months before the agreement's expiration, meeting the franchisor's current standards for new franchisees (including creditworthiness and access to capital), and fulfilling all obligations under the existing agreement. The franchisee must also ensure the resort complies with Camp Margaritaville system standards and pay a renewal fee of $50,000.
