What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Camp Margaritaville's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a customer must promptly notify Margaritaville of any suspicious or malicious activity, potential vulnerabilities, or security weaknesses they become aware of. This notification should be done in accordance with the terms outlined in the Branding Agreement.
In practical terms, this means that if a Camp Margaritaville franchisee or their staff detects anything that could compromise the security of guest information or reservation data, they are obligated to inform Margaritaville immediately. This could include noticing unusual login attempts, potential software vulnerabilities, or any other activity that raises suspicion. The specific method of notification, such as the email address or contact person, would be detailed in the Branding Agreement.
The franchisee is also expected to cooperate with Camp Margaritaville in investigating any security breach and to take steps to fix any security issues that are their responsibility as quickly as possible. This includes following all applicable privacy laws and standards to prevent further breaches. This requirement ensures that Camp Margaritaville maintains a high level of data security and protects guest information, which is crucial for maintaining trust and complying with legal requirements.
Failure to promptly report suspicious activity or to adequately address security breaches could result in liability for the franchisee. Franchisees should familiarize themselves with the Branding Agreement to fully understand their obligations regarding data security and notification procedures. This proactive approach helps protect both the franchisee's business and the overall reputation of the Camp Margaritaville brand.
