What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Camp Margaritaville's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Privacy Information' is defined as data related to the customer's operations, personally identifiable information, protected health information as defined by HIPAA, and credit card information and related data as defined by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards. This definition is important for franchisees to understand because it outlines the types of data they must protect and handle according to privacy and security regulations.

However, any numerical or non-numerical data that has been aggregated from multiple sources, masked, anonymized, and is no longer identifiable to its source is not considered privacy information. This exception indicates that Camp Margaritaville is concerned with protecting identifiable data, but not necessarily aggregated data that cannot be traced back to an individual.

As a Camp Margaritaville franchisee, it is critical to fully understand and comply with these definitions and related data protection requirements to avoid potential legal and financial repercussions. Franchisees should consult with legal counsel to ensure they have appropriate policies and procedures in place to safeguard privacy information as defined by Camp Margaritaville.
