What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Camp Margaritaville FDD, a customer is restricted from reproducing or decompiling the software code, documentation, or any other proprietary technology owned or licensed by Margaritaville or the CRS Supplier. The customer acquires no rights or licenses with regard to the CR System, website content, software, and copy except as granted under the CRS Terms of Use. The customer also may not alter any software code or use the CR System to avoid payment. However, the customer retains all right, title, and interest in and to any content that the customer provides to the CR System, excluding the Margaritaville Intellectual Property and Guest Profile Data, as defined in the Branding Agreement.

Camp Margaritaville's policy ensures the protection of its intellectual property and proprietary technology. This prevents unauthorized use, modification, or reverse engineering of its systems. This restriction is typical in franchising, where maintaining brand consistency and protecting proprietary information are crucial.

For a prospective Camp Margaritaville franchisee, this means they must ensure their customers understand these restrictions. Franchisees should also be aware that any innovations related to the Camp Margaritaville system automatically become the property of the franchisor. This includes ideas, concepts, techniques, or materials related to the resort or the Camp Margaritaville system. Franchisees must promptly disclose any such innovations to the franchisor.
