What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Camp Margaritaville's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain approval for all proposed uses of the Camp Margaritaville Intellectual Property. This encompasses various aspects of the resort's branding and marketing efforts. Specifically, franchisees need approval for advertising, marketing, promotional, and public relations plans, especially those referencing the Camp Margaritaville Intellectual Property in any digital, electronic, or computerized form, including use on a Travel Services Website.

This approval process extends to the resort's online presence. Franchisees must seek approval before developing or maintaining any website or electronic medium that uses "Margaritaville" or any similar word, or any of the Camp Margaritaville Intellectual Property, particularly if it involves reservations or sales related to the resort. Social media usage for advertising or marketing the resort also requires franchisor approval, ensuring compliance with the brand's social media policy.

Camp Margaritaville retains control over its brand identity and how it is presented to the public. This requirement ensures brand consistency and quality control across all franchise locations. Franchisees should factor in the time required for approvals when planning marketing campaigns or developing online content, as a failure to obtain approval or using disapproved materials can lead to required discontinuation of the marketing.
