What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may choose to relocate their business, but they must first obtain Byrider Franchising Partners' written approval. Byrider Franchising Partners will grant permission to relocate the business under specific circumstances. These circumstances include if the lease for the physical premises of the business terminates without the franchisee's fault, or if the physical premises are damaged, condemned, or otherwise unusable.
Additionally, Byrider will allow relocation if, in the reasonable judgment of both the franchisee and Byrider Franchising Partners, there is a change in the character of the location of the business that is sufficiently detrimental to its business potential to warrant relocation. This clause provides some flexibility for franchisees facing unforeseen negative changes in their location's environment.
It is important to note that while Byrider outlines conditions under which they will grant permission for relocation, the franchisee must still obtain written approval from Byrider Franchising Partners before making any move. This ensures that the new location meets Byrider's standards and maintains the brand's integrity. Franchisees should carefully document any circumstances that warrant relocation to support their request for approval.
