What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Byrider's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Byrider has the right to enter and inspect a franchisee's business location. Byrider can do so at all reasonable times to observe how the franchisee operates the business. This includes conferring with employees, vendors, suppliers, and customers. The purpose of these inspections is to ensure that the franchisee's operations comply with the performance standards Byrider has established for the system.
As part of these inspection rights, Byrider may inspect all vehicles for sale at the business location and also inspect the franchisee's business procedures. The franchisee is expected to cooperate with Byrider and promptly correct any deficiencies that are brought to their attention. If the franchisee fails to correct these deficiencies after receiving written notice, they will be responsible for reimbursing Byrider for any reasonable costs and expenses Byrider incurs in correcting them.
This level of oversight is typical in franchising, as franchisors need to protect their brand standards and ensure consistency across all locations. For a prospective Byrider franchisee, this means being prepared for regular inspections and being proactive in addressing any issues identified by Byrider. It also highlights the importance of maintaining good relationships with employees, vendors, and customers, as Byrider may seek their input during inspections.
